Unas instalaciones del Serum Institute of India, considerado el mayor fabricante de vacunas del mundo, se han visto afectadas este miércoles por un fuerte incendio. Las llamas envolvieron su planta situada en Manjri, un suburbio de la ciudad de Pune, en el oeste del país.
El siniestro no afectará a la producción de las vacunas, confirmó la Policía local. La instalación donde se produjo el incendio es un edificio del instituto que estaba en construcción, mientras que la planta donde fabrican las vacunas no ha sido afectada.

Las llamas engulleron la cuarta y quinta planta del edificio. Las causas del siniestro todavía se desconocen y un equipo de bomberos está trabajando en el lugar para extinguir el fuego.
